Hyderabad: Children seek Venkaiah’s help for better facilities in schools

Representatives of ‘Save the children’ said that Vice-President responded positively to the students and assured them of complete assistance.

Hyderabad: Vice-President, M Venkaiah Naidu had a few unusual visitors on Sunday at Raj Bhavan. Four children, two each, from Adilabad and Nellore districts, met him in the hope of seeking his intervention to improve basic amenities for all school students in the Telugu States.

The students B Nikitha and SK Rafiq from Adilabad and K Madhuri and N Venkatesh from Nellore districts were accompanied by staff of ‘Save the Children’, a child rights NGO, to represent children from both the States.

“We came here to request the Vice-President for clean drinking water, better bathrooms, safer transport and security at schools,” said B Nikitha, a Class VIII student of ZPSS Ankoli School of Adilabad district.

Representatives of ‘Save the children’ said that Vice-President responded positively to the students and assured them of complete assistance in the matter.

“He interacted with the children and assured them that he will talk to the officials concerned and see that their issues on amenities in school are addressed,” said K Ranganathan of Save the Children.
