Hyderabad: The eight edition of Hyderabad Children’s Theatre Festival, being organised by Vaishali Bisht’s Theatre Workshop, will be held at Shilpakala Vedika in Madhapur from December 13 to 15.
This year, movies based on issues that children deal on a daily basis, including the importance of nature and environment, will be screened.
The festival will showcase movies made by Sole2Soul Productions and Swangvale Productions from Mumbai and Dolls Theatre from Kolkata.
Actors Rajashekhar and Jeevitha on Tuesday formally launched the Hyderabad Children’s Theatre Festival in a function at the Hyderabad Golf Association.
On December 13, ‘Keep Calm & Dance’ directed by Yuki Ellias with contemporary dance performance elements such as crumping and hip-hop will be screened. The movie explores the kind of challenges students face on an everyday basis.
Another movie, ‘Rang Rangeela Gittu Girgit’, is about nature that has given a wonderful tool to the chameleon to blend in and survive. But what happens when nature itself starts to run out of colour, would be played on December 14, a statement said.
‘Taming of the Wild’ of Dolls Theatre, Kolkata, directed by Sudip Gupta that would be screened on December 15 will showcase a canvas on stage with its vibrant puppetry, operatic music and fluorescent expressionism.
