Hyderabad: Chirec Public School thrived on an impressive performance in the second half to defeat St Paul’s High School and start their campaign on a winning note in the St Patrick’s High School 17th annual inter-school invitational basketball tournament on Wednesday.

Chirec were leading 23-21 at the half time. After the change of ends, Chirec reverted to man-to-man defence which rattled St Paul’s as they failed to score in the third quarter. In the girls category, Gitanjali Devashala outclassed Johnson Grammar School with a 37-25 victory.
