Hyderabad: The State government intends to set up a Constitution Club, on the lines of the one in New Delhi, Legislative Affairs Minister V Prashant Reddy informed the Assembly on Saturday. He said such a facility can serve as a platform for knowledge exchange between current and former legislators and members of Parliament from the State.
Prashant Reddy, referring to Congress MLA D Sridhar Babu raising the topic during his speech on budget demands, said the subject of Constitution Club was also discussed in the Business Advisory Committee meeting of the Legislature where Congress Legislature Party leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka had also suggested that the State needed the Club. “This was supported by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao who had several times in the past brought the subject up. The Chief Minister is keen on setting up the Constitution Club,” Prashant Reddy said.
The Minister said that the proposed Club would be a place where the current and former legislators and MPs would be members and exchange experiences. “We could also have exchanges with legislators from other States and learn from their experiences too,” he added.
