Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, along with his family, offered prayers and had darshan of the Lord Sri Venkateshwara Swamy at Tirumala on Monday morning.
The officials of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), including TTD Chairman Putta Sudhakar Yadav, TTD Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal and other officials, accorded a traditional welcome to the Chief Minister and his family on their arrival at the Mahadwaram, the main entrance of the Tirumala temple. The temple priests welcomed the Chief Minister with ‘Poorna Kumbham’, amid chanting of vedic hymns.
After being led into the sanctum sanctorum, Chandrashekhar Rao and his family members offered prayers and performed special puja to Lord Venkateswara. Later at the Ranganayakula Mandapam, vedic pundits rendered ‘Vedasirvachanam’ on them, and the temple authorities presented them with silk clothes and prasadam.
Chandrashekhar Rao and his family visited Tiruchanoor to offer prayers to Goddess Padmavathi and later travelled to Sri Kalyana Venkateshwara Swamy temple in Thummalagunta. They later visited the residence of Chandragiri YSRCP legislator Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy in Thummalagunta.
YSRCP MLAs Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, Bhumana Karunakar Reddy and others accompanied the Chief Minister who returned to Hyderabad in a special flight from Renigunta airport in the afternoon.
The Chief Minister is expected to visit Vijayawada on May 29 and participate in the swearing-in ceremony of YSR Congress president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister-designate YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on May 30. He will return to Hyderabad on the same day.
