Adilabad: Forest and Environment Minister Jogu Ramanna handed over Rythu Bandhu cheque of Rs 12,240 to an ailing farmer, Mamilla Bavanna, in Yapalaguda village in Adilabad Rural mandal on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Ramanna said that the TRS-led government was a farmer-friendly one and was striving hard to bring past glory to agriculture sector.
He asserted that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was making all out efforts, helping farmers to achieve financial empowerment.
He added Adilabad would be able to shine on agriculture front with the advent of Chanaka-Korata project.
Earlier, the Minister was accorded a grand welcome by residents of Yapalaguda. He was taken on a bullockcart to the village. He took part in distribution of Ruthu Bandhu cheques and pattadar passbooks in Rampur village in Adilabad Rural mandal. He felicitated beneficiaries and handed over the cheques and passbooks.
