Karimnagar: There is plenty of employment opportunities for skilled persons in the private sector, Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed said on Wednesday at the inauguration of the Self Employment Training Institute.

The institute was set up by the State Bank of Hyderabad’s LMD branch at Thimmapur. Sarfaraz said in the last five to six years, both State and Central governments were concentrating more on self-employment training programmes as it was not possible to provide government jobs to all educated youths. So, the governments are training them in different skill-based programmes, besides providing them with subsidy and bank guaranty to establish their own business.

Youths belonging to four districts can get enroll in the institute, which was established at a cost of Rs 1 crore. SBH managing director Shanthan Mukharjee said the training institute is a night centre. So far, 4,318 youths were trained in different skills across the State. Of this, 3,100 were employed, he said.
