Collector inspects renovation works for medical college in Nalgonda

Nalgonda: Collector Gaurav Uppal on Sunday inspected the renovation works of the old block of Government Hospital in Nalgonda, in which a proposed medical college is to be run temporarily.

Along with Executive Engineer of Telangana State Medical Infrastructure Development Corporation Aziz, the Collector examined the renovation works of the old block of the District Government Hospital and inquired the engineers about the status of the works. He also instructed the engineers to complete the renovation works within the stipulated time and underlined the need to renovate the block as per the requirements of a medical college.

The State government sanctioned a medical college for Nalgonda on May 22 and decided to release Rs 500 crore to build the infrastructure as per the norms of Medical Council of India. Dr. Ch. N. Raj Kumari, head of Physiology Department at Kakatiya Medical College, has been appointed as Principal of Medical College in Nalgonda. In addition, nearly 30 doctors were appointed as Assistant Professors for medical colleges in Nalgonda.
