Community hall for Lingayats opened in Sangareddy

TRS MPs garlanded the statue of Lord Basaveshwara located in the heart of the town. Following the request of the local community, the MPs named the circle as Basava Chowk.

Sangareddy: Medak MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy and Zaheerabad MP BB Patil inaugurated the Basava Community hall in Sadhasivapet town on Friday.

The community hall was constructed with a grant of Rs 40 lakh, with an aim to create one place for the Lingayat community to organise all kinds of programmes and celebrations.

Earlier, the TRS MPs garlanded the statue of Lord Basaveshwara located in the heart of the town. Following the request of the local community, the MPs named the circle as Basava Chowk.

After inaugurating the community hall, the MPs also participated in the ‘kalyanam’ of Lord Shiva and goddess Parvathi, organised at the newly inaugurated hall.

Prabhakar Reddy said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and Finance Minister T Harish Rao ensured the grant of Rs 40 lakh following the request of then Sangareddy, MLA Chintha Prabhakar and Municipal Chairperson, Sadhasivapet, Vijayalakshmi for building an exclusive community hall for Lingayat community.

He said Telangana government took up a host of development works in Sadhasivapet town for the benefit of citizens. The Lingayat community thanked Telangana government for providing such a facility in Sadhasivapet town. MP, BB Patil said that the Chief Minister took up a host of development works for the benefit of Lingayat community where the community had a  strong presence.
