Rajanna-Sircilla: District Collector (in-charge) P Venkatrami Reddy instructed officials to complete the pending Mission Bhagiratha works on a war-footing.

The Collector was speaking at a review meeting with sarpanches and engineers to discuss the steps to be taken to complete pending Mission Bhagiratha works, and issues raised by public representatives in the recent Zilla Parishad general body meeting in Sircilla on Monday.

Venkatrami Reddy said officials were trying to complete Mission Bhagiratha works even though they were facing major difficulties. To top it all, problems had cropped up at the ground level due to minor pending works.

When public representatives informed that there was a problem in supply of Mission Bhagiratha water to 71 habitations, he said, and instructed officials to ensure water supply to each and every house by completing the pending works such as grid, overhead tanks and pipelines.

He wanted divisional engineers to conduct meetings with assistant engineers and complete the pending works. There should be cooperation between engineers and implementing agencies, he added.

On the issue of pending bills, the Collector said that earlier, the responsibility of completing Mission Bhagiratha works was given to village sarpanches. Though the works were completed, bills have not been paid so far, he said, and instructed officials to clear pending bill immediately.

Mission Bhagiratha Chief Engineer, Srinivasa Rao, Superintendent Engineer Chandramouli, ZP Chief Executive Officer Goutham Reddy, District Panchayat Officer Ravinder, DEs and AEs participated in the meeting.
