Mahabubabad: Minister for Tribal, Women and Child Welfare Satyavathi Rathod directed officials of the Medical and Health department to conduct the door-to-door fever survey thoroughly to identify Covid-19 patients besides increasing testing for coronavirus at the health centres.
Addressing a review meeting with the officials here on Thursday, she said that the number of isolation centres should also be increased since there was a spike in the Covid cases in the district.
“You must focus on the steps to prevent deaths. Nothing is important than protecting the lives of the people. You (officials) must monitor the condition of the Covid positive patients whether they are in home isolation or institutional isolation,” she said adding that the government was providing adequate oxygen and Remdesivir drugs.
Referring to the lockdown imposed by the State government to check the spread of the Covid-19, the Minister said that officials must ensure that the farming activity should not be affected as it is exempted from the lockdown.
District Collector VP Gautham, Zilla Parishad chairperson A Bindu, MLAs Redya Naik, B Shankar Naik, Haripriya Naik, Municipal Chairman Dr Palvai Rammohan Reddy, Vice-Chairman Fareed, Additional Collector Abhinav Abhilasha, police, medical and revenue officials attended the meeting.
