Mancherial: TRS candidate Balka Suman exuded confidence that he would register a victory by a margin of 50,000 votes in Chennur, considering the overwhelming response to his poll rallies. In a brief interview with Santosh Padala, he explained how the campaign was going on and his plans for developing the segment.

What is the progress of your campaign as you have started relatively later than your counterparts?

About 50 villages of the 102 habitations of this constituency have already been covered. I will convene a meeting with 21 community organisations of Mandamarri mandal on Wednesday and then cover the remaining the rural parts next week. I am planning to focus on urban parts in the first or second week of October.

How is the response to your rallies?

The response is good. Almost all voters of a habitation are taking part in meetings and rallies, indicating their acceptance to my candidature and performance of the government. Over 1,500 people welcomed me in Shetpalli on Tuesday, out of the habitation’s total population of 2,000.

How are you planning to file nomination? Are you inviting any Minister?

A massive rally will be taken out in Chennur by inviting thousands of activists of the TRS and youngsters belonging to this region. Information and Technology Minister KT Rama Rao will grace the occasion and bless me.

What are your strategies to develop the constituency?

I have been serving as a Parliamentarian of Peddapalli since 2014. I have been focusing on seven Assembly constituencies, 35 mandals and 706 habitations that account for a population of 20 lakh. I can easily spend a lot of time to develop Chennur that has five mandals, three civic bodies, and 102 villages. I will make the constituency a role model in north Telangana.
