Hyderabad: TRS spokesperson and MLC Karne Prabhakar on Wednesday alleged that the Congress leaders were going on a picnic to irrigation project sites and attributing their failures to the ruling TRS government in a bid to win people’s sympathy. He said that it was time that the Congress leaders realise that they cannot trick people for long through dissemination of false information using Goebbels propaganda.

Speaking to mediapersons at TRS Legislative Party office on Wednesday, Prabhakar said the Congress leaders are claiming to be the architects of irrigation projects in Telangana but lack basic knowledge about water availability in the rivers. In response to the claims of TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy that Tummidi Hatti project was proposed by the then Congress government in 2007, he demanded to know why the project was not taken up during decade-long rule of Congress government.

“The Telangana Congress leaders got accustomed to act against the interests of Telangana while working under their Andhra counterparts. Even after Telangana State has been achieved, they are unable to change their mindset and trying to obstruct the irrigation projects by filing cases,” he added. He termed the Congress leaders as nimcompoops who laid foundation stone for Tummidi Hatti project without obtaining necessary permissions, while the TRS government came to an understanding with the Maharashtra government and shifted the project to Medigadda which was being completed at a rapid pace.

Prabhakar alleged that the Congress government proposed a lift irrigation project at Tummidi Hatti and challenged to resign to his MLC post, if proved otherwise. He alleged that due to failures of the Telangana Congress leaders to complete projects, the construction estimates of Sri Ram Sagar Project have gone upto Rs 43,000 crore from Rs 40 crore. He pointed out that while the Congress failed in the decade-long rule, the TRS government completed Mid Manair project within 10 months.
