Hyderabad: TRS MLA V Srinivas Goud on Monday said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had, in his earlier role as the leader of separate Statehood movement, convinced over 30 parties to pitch for the formation of Telangana and was capable of uniting like-minded political forces on a single platform for formation of a third alternative to BJP and Congress at the national level.

Speaking to media persons at TRSLP Office here, Goud said the Chief Minister’s call for qualitative change in national politics was being welcomed across the nation. Notwithstanding their political affiliations, everyone should support him in this initiative as it would put the nation on the path of development. “Our Telangana man is becoming a national political force and we all should support him,” he added.

The legislator ridiculed the Opposition parties who he said were resorting to mudslinging against the Chief Minister without knowing the repercussions. He said while BJP won only three seats during the GHMC elections and was struggling to survive in Telangana, the Congress would soon lose its existing seats in the Assembly elections next year and would be limited to a single digit.

“Both the Congress and BJP leadership are utterly scared of the Chief Minister’s decision to play a key role in national politics and they are levelling baseless allegations to save their face,” Goud said.
