Hyderabad: Congress party in Telangana honours the verdict given by the people in the elections and will work hard to ensure that the TRS government fulfills the promises it made to the people in its manifesto, Congress campaign committee chairman Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said.
Vikramarka, who won the election from Madhira constituency, told reporters at Gandhi Bhavan that victory and defeat were a natural process in politics and Congress, whether in opposition or in power, will always work for the people. We will ensure that TRS not only keeps its 2018 promises but also fulfills those it made in 2014, he added.
He called on his party workers to prepare for the upcoming local body elections. Meanwhile, party candidates Dasoju Sravan (Khairatabad), SA Sampath Kumar (Alampur) and Mallu Ravi (Jadcherla), who lost the elections, said Election Commission officials must respond on the several complaints over tampering of EVMs and mismatch between the number of voters who actually voted and the number of votes registered in EVMs in many polling stations across the State.
While Sravan said the TRS party leaders were directly involved in tampering of EVMs to ensure their party’s victory, Sampath Kumar said a CBI inquiry must be conducted into the issue.
