Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLC Karne Prabhakar on Monday found fault with Congress leaders for politicising Governor ESL Narasimhan’s visit to Kaleshwaram project and demanded that they offer unconditional apology to the Governor.

As the first citizen of the State, the Governor was only expressing his happiness over the progress in the State, he said.

Speaking to reporters here on Monday, Prabhakar said the Governor was entitled to inspect the programmes being implemented by the State government and make necessary suggestions for effective implementation.

He pointed out that the Central Water Commission and several Union Ministers and Ministers from neighbouring States including Congress-ruled Karnataka had appreciated Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s vision in executing irrigation projects.

“Considering the progress of works at Kaleshwaram project, probably even Congress party president Rahul Gandhi cannot stop himself from praising the government,” he said.

The legislator accused the Congress leaders of ruining the gubernatorial system in the country by using the Governors as their pawns to overthrow governments in many States.

“People have not forgotten how Governor Ramlal terminated the NT Rama Rao government in 1984. The Congress made similar efforts in Kerala, West Bengal, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu to fulfill their party interests,” he added.

He reminded that Governor ESL Narasimhan was appointed by the Congress-led UPA government, and that he was continuing in the post even during the NDA rule due to his effective role in administration.

On actor and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan’s tour in Telangana, Prabhakar said people are welcome to establish their political parties in the State, but it would not have any impact on the TRS.

Responding to a question, he said the State government does not have any problem in resolving issues that come up before Pawan Kalyan during his tour.
