Congress woman worker attacked in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Mild tension prevailed at Bazaarghat on Wednesday night when a group of persons, reportedly AIMIM party workers, attacked a Congress woman functionary. The police registered a case against two persons and are reported to have picked up two persons in connection with the attack.

According to the police, the woman, identified as Ayesha Farheen, a Congress functionary and in-charge of the Red Hills Congress Committee along with her husband Ashfaq were going to meet a relative at Shergalli in Bazaarghat. A group of persons believed to be AIMIM party workers attacked them and injured them.

Soon, scores of Congress workers gathered at the area resulting in mild tension before the local police dispersed the groups. Later, Congress contestant from Nampally, Feroz Khan, came to the spot and spoke to the police officials. A complaint was lodged by Ayesha Farheen at the Nampally police station.

Based on the complaint, the police registered a case under various Sections of Indian Penal Code and took two persons into custody.
