Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police raided a function hall in Shamshabad on Wednesday following information that former Karnataka Minister and mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy was hiding there. However, the effort turned out to be futile.

Janardhan Reddy’s name surfaced in money transactions reportedly linked to a ponzi scheme in Bengaluru. Since he was absconding, the Bengaluru police started searching for him.
Following rumours that Reddy was reportedly taking shelter at the marriage hall in Shamshabad, a Cyberabad police team raided the premises but could not find him.

Ali Khan, a close aide of Reddy, reportedly entered into an agreement with Syed Ahmed Fareed, one of the directors of Ambidant Marketing Private Limited, to protect him from ED probe for the alleged involvement in the ponzi scheme, according to the police.
