Cops raid gudumba dens in Mulugu

Police destroyed nearly 1,000 litres of jaggery wash and alum used for making Gudumba

Cops with the raided jaggery wash and alum in Mulugu on Wednesday.

Mulugu: A team of police led by Circle Inspector Devender Reddy raided the dens of Gudumba (ID liquor) manufacturing in the forest area on the outskirts of Ramnagar thanda near Jangalapally village on Wednesday.

They have destroyed nearly 1,000 litres of jaggery wash and alum used for making Gudumba. Police are on the hunt for the manufacturers.

As the wine shops remained closed due to lockdown imposed to check pandemic COVID-19, the manufacturing of the illicitly distilled (ID) liquor is on the rise in the erstwhile Warangal district.
