Covid: 17 infected in Mancherial, one dies in Nirmal

Mancherial: As many as 17 persons of Mancherial district tested positive for Covid-19 pandemic on Friday. Meanwhile, a patient of the novel coronavirus disease belonging to Nirmal died while undergoing treatment in Hyderabad.

District Medical and Health Officer Dr M Neeraja, in a press statement, said that nine suspects of Mancherial town, four belonging to Naspur mandal, one each from Srirampur, Jaipur, Chennur and Bellampalli towns were found to have contracted the virus. Results of their medical reports were declared on Friday.

The district so far registered 171 positive cases. It still has 48 active cases and 111 patients have already been discharged. Two infected died of the disease. Blood samples of 458 suspects were collected and of them, 296 tested negative for the Covid-19. Medical reports of 15 suspects are awaited.

Adilabad DMHO Dr Narender said that an infected from Nirmal town succumbed to the disease while undergoing treatment in a hospital of Hyderabad on Thursday night. A total of 51 persons of Nirmal district contracted the virus, while 17 were undergoing treatment and 37 were discharged.

Adilabad district recorded 50 positive cases of Covid-19 so far and results of medical reports of 40 suspects are yet to be known. Kumram Bheem Asifabad district registered 30 cases till date. Results of medical reports of 78 persons are awaited.
