Covid-19: Jamiat Ahle Hadees asks mosque committees to suspend prayers

Hyderabad: The Jamiat Ahle Hadees Hyderabad and Secunderabad branch appealed to the managing committees of the mosques to suspend the prayers in view of the rising cases of Covid-19.

In a statement, Jamiat general secretary, Dr Syed Asif Omeri said, “Next three weeks are crucial in the fight against Covid-19 and all the people should cooperate. Only ‘azaan’ (prayer call) should be given from the mosque and people should pray at their houses only.”

The Jamiat also asked the managing committees to suspend the Friday prayers as well as huge congregations are witnessed during the ‘Juma namaz’.

People were urged to take all precautions and maintain social distancing. “If at all any person has symptoms of Covid-19 they should immediately consult a doctor and get required tests if advised,” Dr.Asif Omeri stated.
