COVID-19: One new case surfaces in Tamil Nadu, total 27

Chennai: With one more person testing positive for coronavirus on Thursday, the total number of infected persons in Tamil Nadu rose to 27.

According to Tamil Nadu Health Minister C. Vijayabaskar, a 24-year old male from Trichy, who had returned from Dubai, has tested positive for coronavirus.

The patient is in the isolation ward of the government hospital in Trichy and his condition is stable, Vijayabaskar said.

Out of these 27 persons who have tested positive, one person has been cured while one patient died on Wednesday.

Vijayabaskar said one person is expected to be discharged soon as he has tested negative after treatment.
