Hyderabad: Students appearing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main from September 1 to 6 are required to give a self-declaration stating they are not Covid-19 positive.

Along with the admit card, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has provided an undertaking form which students have to fill before reaching the examination centre. Students should disclose whether they have symptoms like fever, cough, breathlessness, sore throat/running nose, body ache or any other, in the last 14 days. They should reveal whether they were in close contact with a confirmed case of Covid-19 in the last 14 days.

Candidates were asked to disclose their travel details, if any, from cities/countries in the last 14 days prior to arriving at the centre. They also have to give information from the cities/country they arrived and the date of such arrival at the centre city. Students should affix the same photograph which was uploaded on application form and ensure their left-hand thumb impression is clear and not smudged on the self-declaration form.

In view of the Covid-19 pandemic, candidates appearing for the examinations will be offered a fresh three-ply mask before entering centre.

“In order to stop chances of UFM (unfair means) being used in the examination, the candidate is expected to wear the freshly provided mask at the centre. They will be required to remove the mask worn by them from home, and use the mask provided at the centre only,” the NTA said, adding that frisking will be done through handheld metal detector.

Candidates are advised to carry only admit card along with self-declaration form, a transparent ballpoint pen, additional photograph, personal hand sanitizer, transparent water bottle, and valid and original identity proof to the exam centre. The NTA has made it clear that no candidate will be allowed to enter the centre without an admit card and valid identity proof.

Students will not be allowed to carry any personal belongings including electronic devices, mobile phone, and other banned items into the centres. Also, shoes/footwear with thick soles and garments with large buttons are not permitted. All students will be provided five blank paper sheets for rough work.
