Covid spread: Areas cordoned off in Karimnagar

While some of the streets were closed by administration, a few other areas were cordoned off by the local people to check the spread of virus

Karimnagar: Some areas in Aadarshanagar of Karimnagar town have been cordoned off following the increase of Covid-19 positive cases. Four cases were reported in the locality.

Besides disinfecting the area with hydrocholoquine liquid, officials cordoned off the locality. While some of the streets were closed by administration, a few other areas were cordoned off by the local people to check the spread of virus. The highest of 86 Covid positive cases were reported in the district on Monday. Of that 60 cases were from Karimnagar town.

On the other hand, local MP and BJP State president, Bandi Sanjay Kumar spoke with Collector K Shashanka over phone and advised to take steps to check the spread of virus. He asked the collector to carry out test on all suspected people and trace out the primary contacts of positive patients and take steps to home quarantine them.

MP wanted the collector to enhance tests in the district headquarters hospital and take measures to make available sufficient doctors and medical staff to provide treatment to patients. Sanjay Kumar, in a statement, appealed the people to take precautionary measures to protect themselves from the virus.
