Nalgonda: CPI (M) state secretariat committee member and former MLA Julakanti Ranga Reddy on Wednesday asked the people to vote for candidates supported by CPI(M) in ZPTC and MPTC elections as there was need to elect leaders who would fight on issues prevailing in their areas.
Speaking at Nalgonda district committee meeting of the party, which was organised in Doddikomuraiah Bhavan at Nalgonda, Ranga Reddy said that his party would field candidates in all ZPTC and MPTCs in local bodies elections in the district. He appealed the people to vote for the party candidates, who would have the history of fighting on the public issues. It would facilitate the CPI(M) to raise the public issues in local bodies and intensify its fight for their solution, he added.
Stating that both the Centre and state governments have not shown interest to solve the issues of the people in the last five years, he pointed out that ruling parties BJP at the Centre and TRS in the State, which have failed to implement their earlier pre-poll promises, have come out with new promises to get the votes in Lok Sabha elections. The farmers were denied of Minimum Support Price (MSP) to the crops produced by him. In addition to this, the farmers were forced to wait for few weeks to get the amount for the crops sold at the paddy procurement centres, he added.
Stating that merger of departments would not yield results in rooting out corruption from the system, he urged the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to convene an all parties meeting and hold discussions with the employees’ unions before implementing his decision of merger of some departments. He opined that regular review meeting and effective supervisory mechanism would only help in controlling corruption.
The party district president Mudireddy Sudhakar Reddy informed that he has also requested the State government to fill all the village tanks under AMRP canal and NSP left canal to avoid drinking water scarcity in summer. CPI(M) leaders Thummala Veera Reddy, Dabbikar Mallesham, Nari Ialaiah and Paladugu Nagarjuna were present.
