CPI(ML) ND members caught with weapons in Mahabubabad

The police booked cases against duo under section 120 (B), 384 IPC, Section 10 and 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Section (1) (a) IA Act & Section 8 (1) APPS Act and produced them before a local court.

Mahabubabad: The Bayyaram police arrested CPI(ML) New Democracy’s Royala faction Mahabubabad division secretary Bandari Ailaiah alias Veerannna, and dalam member Banoth Ramu alias Bheemanna from Mula Pocharam hillocks near Alligudem in Bayyaram in the district.

They also seized a 9 mm sten carbine, a 9 mm revolver, 28 rounds and Rs 33,000 cash from them.

Presenting them before the media here, SP N Koti Reddy said a team of police, including Bayyaram CI Ramesh, SI Ravinder and Traffic SI Ashok, were combing the area after they had received credible information and nabbed the duo.

“Eight other members of the dalam escaped from the scene,” the SP and added that they had gathered there to extort money from merchants and road contractors.

Bandair Ailaiah (50) hails from Irusulapuram of Bayyaram mandal in the district. He first worked in PDSU and later became the member of the CPI(ML) ND (legal). He was earlier arrested in connection with a murder case and served imprisonment in Warangal Central Prison. He was accused in several other murder cases.

Ailaiah joined the Madhu dalam (squad) of the CPI(ML) Royal faction following the split in the party. He is also working as the Mahabubabad division secretary. DSP A Naresh was also present at the press meet.
