Nalgonda: Cultivation is estimated to be taken up in 10,67,318 acres in Nalgonda district, according to the District Agriculture Card for the monsoon crop season.
The district authorities have received the card from the office of Commissioner of Agriculture on Saturday as part of regulated farming.
Joint Director of Agriculture Sridhar said it was fixed in the card that paddy cultivation should be taken up in 3,22,562 acres, cotton in 7,10,475 acres, red gram in 30,000 acres and groundnut in 2,000 acres. It was also recommended to cultivate paddy varieties of fine rice (BPT-5204, Telangana Sona and RNR).
He said seeds of these varieties would be supplied to farmers at subsidised prices. Farmers were also asked to cultivate red gram as inter-crop in cotton farms.
