Kalaachakra is one of those urban cultural spaces of Hyderabad which has opened its doors for people who would love to indulge themselves in the world of ceramic and potter. It’s the brain child of Akhila Chungi which includes a studio where the visitors can have a look into everything that happens over the potter’s wheel and its transformation at the kiln.
Apart from this, there is an amphitheater where various stage plays, dance and music performances along with a few workshops are conducted. Once in a while, flea markets are also organised here and people from different walks of life keep visiting. Akhila, the proud owner of Kalaachakra says, “Pottery is one of those arts which is gaining its charm in the recent days. I was so interested in pottery that for some brief period I was teaching it to the school children and it was only then I realised that kids wanted to explore more about the art. Hence, I decided to create a space where kids can spend time on anything they would like to.”
Kalaachakra is at road No 10, Jubilee hills and is easy to be located. Workshops like chocolate making, vegan-baking, understanding your pets, painting, musical storytelling, terrarium gardening, violin recital, talks by eminent personalities, paper mache and many more are regularly conducted here for kids especially. This cultural space always has some or the other workshops lined up and you can keep a track of them on their Facebook post also.
