Cyberabad cops collect over 2,700 units of blood since June

In the first phase during April and May, a total of 1,495 units of blood was collected and in the second phase from June 17 until now, over 1,200 units were collected

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police have collected over 2,700 units of blood since June through blood donation camps.

To help those in need of blood including Thalassemia patients (specifically children), dialysis, cancer patients and accident victims, Cyberabad Police are organising blood camps along with Osmania General Hospital and Thalassemia Sickle Cell Society.

In the first phase during April and May, a total of 1,495 units of blood was collected and in the second phase from June 17 until now, over 1,200 units were collected.

Cyberabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar said that there is a wrong notion on blood donation it was a myth that people become weak after donating blood. He requested the citizens to donate blood regularly and appreciated the efforts of Red Cross Society in seeking to create awareness about blood donation.
