Dead rat found in curry at tiffin centre in Warangal

Warangal (Urban): In a shocking incident, a dead rat was found in the curry served to one Ramesh at Akshaya Tiffin Centre in the city on Tuesday.

One of the popular tiffin centres in Hanamkonda, Akshaya is located along Kazipet-Hanamkonda road near Rohini Hospital and is frequented by hundreds of the people every day.
According to the official sources, Ramesh, along with his wife, had gone to the tiffin centre and ordered meals for lunch.

To their shock, they found a dead rat in the brinjal curry served to them. After learning about the incident, Municipal Health Officer (MHO) of the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) Dr B Raja Reddy inspected the tiffin centre and slapped notice on the management of the tiffin centre seeking explanation.

The food samples were also collected and sent to the lab for the testing. “I have also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 and withheld the trade licence of the tiffin centre,” Raja Reddy said.
