Nizamabad: Death of four patients in Nizamabad Government General Hospital from Thursday night sparked a controversy with relatives of some patients alleging that the death was due to failure in supply of oxygen in the hospital. Hospital authorities refuted the charge and say it is incorrect to attribute the cause of death to lack of oxygen supply.

Four persons admitted to the Hospital died and three of them were suffering from Covid-19, while another suffered a paralytic stroke. While their relatives alleged that oxygen supply was stopped due to a technical failure for sometime leading to deaths, authorities said there were nearly 40 patients in the ward and that if there were oxygen supply problems, all would have been affected. But that was not the case.

Of the dead, three were suffering from Covid-19 and another was being treated for a paralytic stroke. Among Covid patients, three were two female patiens and another male. The paralysis affected patient was also a female. The

Coronavirus patients hailed from Yedapally, Bheemgal and Jakranpally mandals and paralysis patient was from Nandipet mandal.

Hospital superintendent Dr. Nageshwar Rao said that lack of oxygen supply is not the reason. These patients were being treated for the last 10 to 20 days and they have other complications like BP, Diabetic and obesity problems.
