Hyderabad: Wednesday turned out to be the hottest day this summer in the city with mercury climbing to 43.2 degree Celsius. The sun blazing away after 11 am and the hot weather peaking in the afternoon had the denizens preferring to mostly stay indoors.

The high temperature today was three degrees above the normal for this month and according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), weather conditions turned intense in the city in a span of a day and the mercury surging 2 notches. The temperature levels yesterday stood at 41.2 degree Celsius.

Meanwhile, the IMD forecast shows that rain or thundershowers could occur towards evening or night in the city on Thursday with temperatures continuing to hover around 41 degree Celsius.

On the other hand, the area-wise temperatures recorded by Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) include Pashamylaram (42.1 degree Celsius), Bahadurpura (41.5 degree Celsius) and Madhapur (41.4 degree Celsius).

Its forecast suggest that there would be mainly dry weather in the city and a possibility of light to moderate rain/ thunderstorms during afternoon/evening hours at isolated parts till Thursday. Maximum temperatures are expected to be in range of 38 degree Celsius to 41 degree Celsius, forecast said.
