Hyderabad: The Finance Department has asked all departments to prepare budget estimates for the year 2017-18. District Collectors have also been asked to hold meetings with their respective district heads of various departments to finalise the department-wise priorities and work-wise proposals indicating the financial and physical details.

Special Chief Secretary, Planning, BP Acharya, asked the Collectors to communicate these details to each HoD, Special CSs, principal secretaries and secretaries duly marking copies to the Planning Department. While finalising the budget proposals at district-level, attempts should be made to incorporate the felt needs of the people identified during the ‘Mana Vooru-Mana Pranalika’ and ‘Grama Jyothi’ programme.

Acharya asked the Collectors to bestow personal attention to this important task so as to achieve the objective of micro-level planning. He asked the Collectors to identify district-wise priorities for each department duly keeping in view the local resources and potential for growth in different sectors as part of the ‘Know Your District – Plan Your District’ exercise. In this context, local area resources mapping has been initiated in certain districts with the help of geo-spatial technology through TRAC.
