Hyderabad: Torch bearer in the London Olympics and well-known endurance runner wit Type-I diabetes, Gavin Griffiths from United Kingdom is set to take part in a charity run being organised as part of International Society for Paediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD)-2018 on Sunday, October 14 at HICC, Madhapur.
Gavin Griffiths is an ultra-endurance athlete who has run 25 marathons in 30 days this year, according to a press release. The top athlete is the founder of DiAthlete and is known as ‘The DiAthlete’ world over.
Considered as an experienced distance runner and endurance enthusiast, Gavin has accomplished 74 extreme physical challenges, from running 30 mile marathons each day for 30 days, to cycling over inclines of the Alps, always motivated by living with type 1 diabetes.
Gavin has so far run in six continents of the world and raises funds for various diabetes charities and according to ISPAD organisers say he has so far physically run 2,500 miles in endurance challenges. Post the charity run, Griffith along with experts will also interact with children with type 1 diabetes and their families.
