Visakhapatnam: Digital transformation is no more an option but it has become important that every industry should transform and digital transformation will play a major role in the growth and sustainability of an organisation, according to Dr Sheela Siddappa, Chief Advisor – Data Science, Bosch Engineering & Business Solutions.
Addressing a seminar organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry on Digital Transformation 2019 on the theme “Accelerating Competitiveness and Growth in the Digital Age” here on Monday, she advised industrialists to take advantage of the digital wave to overcome various challenges faced by the industry.
G S Shiv Kumar, Past Chairman, CII Andhra Pradesh during his theme address said that the spread of digital technologies has already improved the world in myriad ways. It has, for example, revolutionised the ability to communicate with others and to share and access knowledge. Individuals from long-neglected populations have used mobile money and other financial services for the first time, and started businesses that reach both domestic and global markets.
The speed and scale of change is increasing – and the agility, responsiveness needs to improve rapidly. If we want to use digital technologies to improve life for everyone, we will have to go about it consciously and deliberately – with civil society, companies and governments recognising their interdependence and working together, he said.
Col. Suhail Zaidi, Head, CII Centre for Digital Transformation during his address said, the business landscape across the globe is undergoing rapid changes, led by digital technologies which are transforming the way systems and processes work. Companies find themselves at different stages of the digital curve and are being forced to rethink their processes and systems as they adopt and adapt to these technological changes.
Digital Transformation is about complete business transformation, creating new business models, enhancing both the “Topline” and “Bottom Line” and capable of generating 10-time benefits.
