Adilabad: Former Minister and Adilabad MLA Jogu Ramanna on Wednesday said he will continue to work under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and be a part of Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS).

Ramanna was in the news for going incommunicado on Monday. He was reportedly upset over being denied a Cabinet berth during the recent expansion. He was in Hyderabad and not accessible even over the phone for the last couple of days. His family members said he was suffering from high blood pressure.

Speaking to reporters, Ramanna, who broke down during the media conference, said he was disappointed by the denial of a Cabinet berth. “I was expecting a post during the expansion, but it didn’t happen,” he said, adding that he was dejected and as a result, had high blood pressure.

“I was upset and was admitted to a hospital because of high blood pressure. Doctors advised me not to meet anyone for two days. It is not wrong to hope for a Ministerial berth after being a clean elected representative,” he said, and dismissed media reports that he had gone underground. He apologised to his followers and supporters for failing to live up to their expectations.

The four time MLA declared that he would always continue to work with TRS and advised his supporters to follow him. He asked them not to stage protests over the denial of Cabinet position to him.

Meanwhile, police thwarted a suicide attempt by Prashanth Wagmore, a staunch follower of Ramanna, who tried to immolate himself. Police prevented him from setting himself on fire. Adilabad Zilla Parishad Chairperson Rathod Janardhan, former Municipal Chairperson R Maneesha and Agriculture Market Committee chairman M Prahlada were present.
