Hyderabad: Two activists of the Darsgah Jihad-o-Shahadat were taken into custody by the city police from near the Ministers’ Quarters in Begumpet when they went to “protest” in front of Home Minister Mohd Mahmood Ali’s residence on Wednesday morning.

The two were identified as Shahnawaz Khan and Mohd Bin Omer. However, DJS president Mohd Majid said that Shahnawaz and Mohd Bin Omer had gone to the residence to seek an appointment from the minister to represent the issue of the Ek Khana Mosque.

“The home minister’s office could have given or denied an appointment. The police are claiming that they had gone to protest at the home minister’s residence, which is wrong,” said Majid.

The DJS demanded the police to release the two persons immediately.
