DPS Nacharam: Alumni meet brings back memories

Principal Sunitha Rao expressed her delight in reconnecting with the students of the previous batches

DPS Nacharam’s first ever-virtual mega alumni meet was conducted on August 9, 2020 with the school Chairman M Komariah, Director Pallavi, Academic Director Dr T Sudha, Principal Sunitha Rao and other in-charges, staff and the special invitees the eight batches of alumni. A stupendous record of more than a thousand alumni from different parts of the world including the USA, Canada, UK, France, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Singapore, Malaysia, Dubai and different cities of India along with many from Hyderabad attended on Zoom and Facebook link. 

It was indeed a trip down the memory lane for the audience as videos and photos were flashed before their screens. Chairman M Komariah extended a hearty welcome to the former students and spoke of how the world looks up to DPS for new ideas and innovations. He congratulated the alumni who have brought glory to their alma mater by having a clear voice, the conviction of great courage and the power to stand for the truth. 

Academic Director Dr T Sudha nostalgically recounted some of her fond memories from the commencement of the first batch of senior secondary level. Principal Sunitha Rao expressed her delight in reconnecting with the students of the previous batches. She reiterated that DPS Nacharam has been the second home for all students for years. Sr. Vice-Principal Nandita Sunkara motivated the proud alumni DPSITES to continue to be the ambassadors and be the torch-bearers of change at the global platform. 

Former Head Boy and alumnus M Yasasvi’s words on the importance of humility and joy of giving touched the hearts of the audience. Yashwanth, Kaveripriya, Tejasvi, Shalika, Deepika and many of them had a truckload of stories to reminisce and look back on. Formerstudents entertained with some heartfelt melodies and foot-tapping rock songs. The soulful musical performance of Anirudh Sharma, a member of the Indian Raaga was appreciated by the audience. The other programmes included Magical Moments of Music by Shubankar and Shivani Chamarthy, Beat droppers the music band. 

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by the alumnus and President of DPS Alumni Yash Agarwal.
