Hyderabad: Senior cancer surgeon and president elect of the Association of Surgeons of India, Dr P Raghu Ram delivered a keynote lecture at the annual congress of Chinese College of Surgeons, held in Beijing between May 17 and 19.
Dr Raghu Ram, who was amongst few experts to be invited to participate in the conference, in his key note address spoke about ‘Transforming breast healthcare in India over the past decade’.
The founder of Ushalakshmi Centre for Breast Diseases at KIMS, outlined innovative initiatives launched by the Foundation in the past 12 years, which played an important role in improvement of delivery of breast healthcare in the country.
On the occasion, he interacted with Professor Shan Wang, president of the Chinese College of Surgeons and discussed strategies to develop a collaboration with focus on improving standards of surgical training and surgical care. He proposed a three-hour joint session of Chinese College of Surgeons along with Association of Surgeons of India at the next year’s annual Congress, according to a press release.
