Hyderabad: The West Zone Task Force nabbed a four-member drug peddling gang from the Puranapul bus stand in Mangalhat and seized 6.5 kilos of marijuana from them.
The arrested were Sagar Karjee, 42; Arunanidhi Misal, 47; Santosh Karjee, 22; and Narayan Sabar, 20, all four labourers and natives of Gajpathi in Odisha.
According to the police, Sagar Karjee, a mason, met Misal five months ago. The duo then became friends with the other two and decided to procure drugs and sell them in the city, according to P Radha Kishan Rao, DCP, Task Force.
A month ago, Santosh Karjee and Narayan Sabar went to Odisha and purchased 6.5 kg of marijuana from Judepattar agency area for Rs 1,000 per kilo. “They brought it to Hyderabad and plotted to sell the same between Rs 8,000 and Rs 10,000 per kilo in Dhoolpet and other places,” the DCP said. They were handed over to the Mangalhat police.
