Hyderabad: A drunk man caused a few tense moments for the LB Nagar police here on Monday after he walked into the police station with a knife and a bleeding wrist, demanding the release of his brother.

It was after police told him that he was in the wrong police station that the man, identified as Babu Miyah of LB Nagar, calmed down and went home.

“He screamed at the police officials demanding the release of his younger brother Ahmed. He threatened to cut his throat as well if Ahmed was not released,” police said, adding that he had refused to believe when the police told him that his brother was not in the police station.

Amidst efforts to get his bleeding wrist treated, police found out what he was talking about and told him that Ahmed was in fact held at the Saroornagar Women’s Police Station.

LB Nagar inspector P Kasi Reddy said Ahmed was arrested as his wife had lodged a complaint of domestic violence against him. Hearing this, Babu calmed down and finally went home. No case was registered against him, Reddy said.
