Hyderabad: In view of the Navaratri and Dusshera festival which commences from September 21 and concludes on September 30, the Hyderabad City Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy issued notification to the Durga idol pandal organisers asking them to seek prior permission from the police.
The forms will be available at all police stations from September 14 to 16 and have to be submitted on or before September 18.
The forms have to be submitted at local police stations with details indicating place, date, route and the destination of immersion procession and an NOC from premises owner. Installation of idols will be allowed only at places where it will not cause traffic obstruction and no unauthorised electricity connection at pandals will be allowed.
The use of loudspeakers will be restricted to box type only and police clearance has to be taken by the organisers and the dealers or the company as well. The noise levels should be kept within the permissible limits. Speakers cannot be used between 10 pm and 6 am.
Organisers will have to arrange surveillance cameras with recording facility and power backup at all the entry and exit points of places of public gathering.
These instructions do not apply to idols installed in residences and are not made accessible to the public, a statement said. However, idols in the cellars of the complexes and those taken out in public procession will have to apply for police clearance.
