Hyderabad: Having missed a few deadlines, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has intensified the pace of works on Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge and is planning to complete the works by October.
Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Principal Secretary, Arvind Kumar on Tuesday tweeted: “Had a detailed review meeting with the engineers, including GHMC Chief Engineer (Projects). There are implementation delays and hiccups. Expect to complete by October.”
The cable stayed bridge is equipped with a span of 233.8 metres. The 754.38 m cable bridge works are being taken up with a cost of Rs 184 crores.
The cable bridge is being constructed to ease traffic congestion on the roads leading to Jubilee Hills Road No.36, Road No.45 and other busy stretches, which lead to Hitec City, Financial district and Gachibowli areas that have numerous software and corporate companies.
