Suryapet: Officials of Road Transport Authority on Wednesday conducted a special drive in Suryapet town and filed cases against 18 minors who were driving motorcycles illegally.
The officials took up checking of vehicles at 60-foot road in the town and booked eight minors for driving motorcycles against the rules.
Speaking on the occasion, Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector Veerender Naik said underage youth driving vehicles would attract punishment under Motor Vehicles Act.
He also cautioned that cases would be filed against the minors if they were caught while driving vehicles. He asked parents not to give vehicles and not allow minors to drive vehicles. The special drive would continue for the next few days in the town, he added.
