Warangal Urban: The Government Railway Police (GRP), Warangal, have arrested eight persons, including a woman in connection with a dacoity case and recovered Rs 12,15,300 stolen cash from them on Friday. The arrested were identified as Thumma Uday (A-1), his mother Kavitha, father Bhasker of Kashibugga in Warangal, Vangari Jagadesh, native of Vasanthapuram village in Geesugonda mandal, Adepu Santhosh Kumar of Shivanagar, Saroha Bharth Singh of Hunter Road, Hanamkonda, Rama Sandeep of Shivanagar and Md Pasha of Shivanagar.
Disclosing details to the media in Warangal on Friday, Superintendent of Railway Police (SRP), Secunderabad, G Ashok Kumar, said that the accused had hatched a plan and stolen Rs 14,34,800 cash and a cell phone from one Yugender, who is working as ‘Gumastha’ in Srikrishna bullions (gold merchant), Warangal, while he was leaving for Chennai in Tamil Nadu Express on October 5 from Warangal Railway station.
Following the complaint by Yugander, the police registered a case and started investigation. “On Friday, they arrested all the eight members involved in the case. The arrested had confessed to the crime,” the SP added.
