About 12 million candidates enter the job market every year. Some of them are not acquainted with technology and find it very difficult to prepare a resume or register with a job board. Their only access to job opportunities is through ‘referrals’. This problem is being faced by candidates across the country. To address this problem in the Hyderabad city, Hyderabad City Police and TMI Group have launched an employment van called Job Connect.
How does it work?
Job Connect is provided with manpower, infrastructure and technology necessary to connect job seekers to job opportunities in the city. It visits the crowded places like cinema theatres and bus stands in the city where the density of job seekers is high. The representatives in the vehicle meet the candidates fill in the registration forms and provide them information on job opportunities available in the city. The candidates are also offered counseling on choosing the right job.
After registering with Job Connect, candidates are connected to employers in the city who are looking for suitable candidates to fill job vacancies with them. A technology available with the TMI group will filter the profiles of candidates registered with Job Connect to select those who match the eligibility criteria laid by the employers. Selected candidates are initiated about the same through emails and SMSes.
Job seekers can use Wi-Fi support available at the van to download the app Hawk Eye, which can be used to avail the support of the Hyderabad City Police.
Hawk Eye is a mobile app launched by the Hyderabad City Police. A section within the app, Job Connect, can also be used to register. This app provides not only the details of jobs vacancies registered with us but also a list of government job openings. The app is therefore one-stop source for information on local jobs as well as government jobs. The users can apply for jobs through the app. The app also provides tips on choosing the right job and handling the job interviews.
Job Connect not only connects job seekers to employment opportunities but also spreads social awareness. The data of job seekers collected through the vehicle will also be used by the police to connect with the youth in the city for providing them with various kinds of support and services including skill training programs and training programmes for constable examinations.
Job Connect is first-of-its-kind mobile technology based initiative that provides connectivity between the Hyderabad Police and the unemployed youth of the city. This project is a PPP initiative between TMI group, India’s leading employment agency, and the Hyderabad City Police. This is an initiative where the Police will be actively involved in improving the livelihood of the youth.
