Musical concert, mimicry show organised at Sahrudaya old-age home

Warangal Urban: In an attempt to provide recreation to the old people, a musical concert and mimicry show were conducted at Sahrudaya old-age home here on Wednesday by an NRI Suresh Puram in association with Sulakshya Seva Samithi.

While singers Ravi Balaji, Chandana and their team entertained the inmates by singing old melodies taking them back to their good old days, noted mimicry artist Bharath enthralled the inmates with his performance imitating movie actors and politicians.

Poetess and cartoonist Rama Nellutla, who was the chief guest at the programme, said, “The inmates here are old in age but not in heart.” She praised Sulakshya Seva Samithi for doing a commendable job for the well-being of the society.

Speaking on the occasion, founder president of Sulakshya Seva Samithi said that they organise such programmes regularly as part of their objective of spreading love and affection.

NRI Suresh Puram said, “Though I reside faraway, I always wanted to give something back to the society here. I’m glad to be a reason for bringing smiles on the faces of these elderly destitute.”

Inmates of the old-age home, Narsamma and Leelavathi, expressed happiness as the tears rolled down, saying that it was such gestures they needed in the last leg of their life. The old-age home organisers Chotu and Yakubee also took part in the event.
