Hyderabad: Minister for Rural Development Errabelli Dayakar Rao has said that the Fifteenth Finance Commission’s funds will be distributed to the three tier Panchayat Raj structure in the proportion of 85, 10 and 5 per cent each as decided by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
The Minister, who was speaking with MLC Pochampally Srinivas Reddy when the latter called on him at his residence here on Tuesday, said: “The Centre has agreed to the model of distribution of funds proposed by the Chief Minister,” adding that the spending of the money will also be taken up as per the directions of the CM.
He said that Gram Panchayats will receive 85 per cent, Mandal Parishads 10 per cent, and Zilla Parishads 5 per cent. He expressed confidence that these funds will help the three tier panchayat system and rural areas to develop further. He added that the State government was already allocating sufficient funds to panchayats through Palle Pragathi and Pattana Pragathi programmes.
Srinivas Reddy, appreciating the Minister with regard to allocation of funds, said the share of the Finance Commission’s funds decided by the Chief Minister was apt. He also thanked Minister for IT and Industries K T Rama Rao. Hyderabad Mayor Bonthu Rammohan was also present.
