Hyderabad: The Banjara Hills police on Monday booked a case against two advertising agency consultants, including a woman, for allegedly promising roles for children in advertisements and fleeced their parents. They collected money from the parents and conducted photo shoots, the police said.

According to the Banjara Hills police, Abhishek and Bhaskar lodged a complaint stating that when they recently went to Forum Sujana Mall at Kukatpally with their kids, three unidentified persons approached them and complimented them about their children being cute. Introducing themselves as ad consultants from an agency, they requested them to allow the children to act in ads, the police said.

A photo session of the children was organised at an office in Banjara Hills a couple of days ago, with the parents being told that the pictures would be sent to companies who select children for different roles in ads.

“On the pretext of commission and other fee, the suspects collected a total of Rs 70,000 from the parents. After the photo shoot, they fled the spot,” police said.

Based on a complaint, a cheating case was booked and efforts are on to trace the absconding suspects, identified as Natasha and Ayaan, and who allegedly operate from Mumbai.
