Fake naxals arrested in Kothagudem

Kothagudem: The police on Monday arrested three persons who were extorting money claiming to be members of CPI-ML (New Democracy), underground dalams and CPI (Maoist) party. The arrests took place under the Allapalli police station limits.

Tekulapalli Inspector of Police Nagaraju said the accused were identified as Komalla Narasimha Reddy of Warangal and Rayala Venkateswarlu of Konijerla in Khammam who had worked with CPI-ML (ND) in the past.

They were extorting money from local traders for the past three years and several cases were booked against them. Another accused, Maidam Surender, who helped the duo, was also taken into custody.
